Certified Auditor & Accountant
As a partner, Francis Rysman is responsible for clients whose annual accounts need to be audited. Francis therefore has an important client portfolio with large family client groups from various sectors but is also active as a supervisory director at large non-profit institutions.
Francis graduated in 1988 with a Master’s in Business Economics at Ghent University. In 1989 he also obtained his Master's in Accountancy there. At the Bruges section of VLEKHO, he obtained a Postgraduate degree in Fiscal Sciences in 2000. Finally, in 2009 he completed the Masterclass in Personal Financial Planning in Antwerp.
After completing his studies, Francis started his career as an auditor at Ernst & Young in Ghent. From 1993 he completed his traineeship as Company Auditor with Koen Vandelanotte and was sworn in as a company auditor in June 1994. After a while he became the Director of the Audit department at Vandelanotte. Today he works as the Audit Account Manager and has been a partner since 2008.
Francis likes to gain insight into complex group structures, with their mutual relationships, and is therefore largely familiar with the accounting consolidation and supervision of family businesses.
Nowadays, Francis is strongly involved in non-profit organisations, where an insight into sectoral financing and subsidisation is crucial.
Francis is a teacher at the VIZO Training Institute in Ghent. In addition, he has also been author of 'De Gids voor vennootschappen' and 'Zakboekje voor de Accountant' for many years. He has been responsible for the Belgian accounting law section of the latter book for more than 25 years. The annual update, necessitated by the frequent changes in the regulatory framework, keeps his mind sharp. The clientele ultimately reaps the benefits of this.
Francis also provides internal training and is often consulted by colleagues at Vandelanotte to solve large technical issues that arise with family companies.
