Carl Van Biervliet is a Vandelanotte partner and works in the Tax department.
Education
Carl attained Bachelor's degrees in both Informatica and Business Administration from the Katholieke Hogeschool in Kortrijk. He went on to take a Bachelors degree in Fiscal Sciences at the Economische Hogeschool Sint-Aloysius (Ehsal) in Brussels. His outstanding results on the latter course won him the Ernst & Young prize. He later completed a course in company law at the Ehsal.
Experience
Carl launched his professional career with Vandelanotte in 1988, and since that time he has progressed to the position of partner, currently taking responsibility for the Special Services Business Line. In 1992 he qualified as an Accountant, with recognition as a qualified Tax Consultant following in 2000.
Teaching and Publications
Carl has spoken at numerous seminars and is a guest lecturer at the Hogeschool Gent and at Syntra West. He is also an author and a member of the editorial team at the publisher Kluwer, working on the newsletters "KMO questions and answers", "Fiscal Tips" and co-authoring "The Guide for Companies". He has written several other books and pamphlets, including "Belgium: Tax Paradise" and "Shares examined from various fiscal perspectives".
Memberships
Carl is attached to the Vlerick Leuven Gent Management school where he advises the Examinations Committee. He also sits on the Thesis Assessment panel of the Examinations Committee of the Hogeschool-Universiteit in Brussels. He is a permanent member of the Leading Edge Alliance (L.E.A.) where he specialises in fiscal matters. In this capacity he takes part in international conferences, where he has frequently delivered lectures.
